Joy Mountain retreat center exists to provide a quality environment and comfortable accomodations for groups, families, and individuals desiring time together and time with God.

History

In September of 1998 Ark Ministries purchased 210 acres of mountain forest and began construction of Provision House at an elevation of 4000 feet on what they named Joy Mountain.

Provision House was completed in September 1999, followed by Harvest House in March 2000, The Ark meeting house in April 2000, and the Gatekeeper's House in September 2000.

Personnel

Caretakers of Joy Mountain are Dave and Margie McCrum.  They have served as missionaries to Haiti in the early 80's and pastored in Stuart Florida for about 15 years before their move to the mountains of western North Carolina.
